Every year, on December 3rd, we commemorate the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, a day dedicated to acknowledging the struggles, achievements, and contributions of individuals with disabilities worldwide to raise awareness, challenge misconceptions, and advocate for the rights and well-being of people with disabilities.

This awareness event, organized under the leadership of Dr. Sevgi KIRBOYUN TİPİ, one of the lecturers of the Special Education Department, gave Istanbul Medeniyet University students and staff opportunities to experience the challenges faced by individuals with disabilities and suggested practical steps to make our world more inclusive.

Under the title of " Would you like to experience with us how individuals with visual impairments perceive the world?", they had the chance to experience Braille writing with embossing tablets and pens, object search, guided walking, and white cane skills used by individuals with visual impairments under the guidance of Special Education Students.

During the event, the Dean of the Faculty of Educational Sciences Prof. Dr. Ahmet AKIN, and Vice Dean Prof. Dr. Eyüp Sevimli visited our stand. They experienced the skills taught by special education students.
