Mission: To carry out research and development activities regarding the education of individuals with special needs; to open and support postgraduate education programs in areas related to the education of individuals with special needs; to realize community service practices that include training, practice or evaluation in cooperation with NGOs, continuing education centers, various public institutions and organizations
Vision: Our department aims to train special education teachers who have acquired knowledge and skills at the international level in the education of individuals with special needs and are able to follow current developments in their field. In addition, it is aimed to offer courses to develop the knowledge and skills of students enrolled in other departments within the Faculty of Educational Sciences in order to improve their knowledge and skills related to special education. In addition, our instructors aim to support the studies in the field of ASD in a theoretical and practical way by providing services such as early diagnosis and evaluation, guidance, family and specialist training, especially in the field of autism spectrum disorder (ASD).
